I'm a 77 year old mother of four and grandmother of 11. Cooking relaxes me and I love new gadgets.

Frosted Cherry Drop Cookies

1 package white cake mix (I got Walmart brand because is was the original weight since name brands have reduced their size instead of raising the price)

½ cup sour cream

3 T. maraschino cherry juice

¼ t. almond extract

1 egg

½ cup chopped maraschino cherries, drained

Reserve 1 T. liquid for frosting

Set oven to 350*. In a large mixing bowl, combine all except the chopped cherries. When mixed, blend in those cherries Drop by teaspoon on an ungreased baking sheet 2" apart. Bake 8 to 12 minutes or until edges are golden. Cool before removing from baking sheet.

subheading: Frosting:

2 ½ cups powdered sugar

¼ cup butter

1 T. cherry juice

2 to 3 T. half and half

9 cherries drained and chopped
