Baked Figs Stuffed with Cheese and Wrapped with Bacon
Ingredients
  • 12 fresh, Greek Figs either King ‘Vassilika’ or black
  • 40 gr / 1.4 oz Kefalotyri cheese from Mani, cut in small cubes (or feta)
  • 100 gr / 3.5 oz Smoked Bacon (6 slices, cut lengthwise in half)
  • 3 tbsp. / 45 ml Olive Oil
  • 1 shot / 50 ml Fatourada (Kythira liqueur with cinnamon and cloves) or Cognac
  • A bit Black Pepper powder
  • Optional: Honey, if figs are not sweet enough
  • 12 Toothpicks
