Tangsuyuk Korean Sweet and Sour Pork
Ingredients

  • 1 cup potato starch
  • 1 ½ lb pork loin, cut into 2-inch long ¼-inch thin pieces
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp shaoxing wine
  • pinch of black or white pepper
  • ½ egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp vegetable or avocado oil
  • frying oil
  • subheading: For the Sauce:
  • 1 tsp cooking oil
  • ¼ small sweet onion, 1-inch cube
  • 5 to 6 wood ear mushrooms, cut into bite size
  • ½ red bell, cut into 1-inch cube
  • ½ Persian cucumber, sliced
  • ¾ cup chicken stock
  • ¼ pineapple chunks in juice
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • fresh juice from ½ lemon
  • pinch of salt or 1 tsp soy sauce, optional
  • 1 tbsp starch, mixed with equal amount of cold water
