Twice-Baked Caramelized Cashew Baklava

  • ¾ teaspoon cardamom
  • ¼ teaspoon table salt
  • 12 tablespoons (170g) unsalted butter or vegan butter, melted
  • up to 8 ounces (227g) frozen 14" × 18" phyllo sheets, thawed*

  • 1 ½ cups (300g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (113g) water
  • ¼ cup (56g) orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water or 1 teaspoon King Arthur Pure Vanilla Extract
