Ingredients
  • 2 ½ cups water or chicken broth
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • ¾ cup diced carrots
  • 1 small apple, cored and diced (sounds weird, but trust me, it's good)
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • ¾ tsp dried basil
  • ½ tsp ground sage (or 1 tsp rubbed sage)
  • ½ tsp dried thyme leaves
  • ½ tsp tarragon (optional)
  • (If you don't have these individual herbs, use 2 ½ tsp poultry seasoning)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • ½ cup crisp bacon pieces
  • 8 oz (about 2 cups) macaroni, shells or other small pasta
  • 1 to 3 cups leftover cooked turkey
  • 3 ½ Tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ cup water or broth
  • 1 cup frozen peas or corn
  • ¼ to ¾ cups leftover turkey gravy, if available
