Homemade Pak Choi
Ingredients
  • subheading: Pak choi:
  • 300g pak choi
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cooking oil
  • subheading: Sauce:
  • ½ tomato
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ½ onion
  • 1 slice of ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch dissolved in 200ml water
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • pinch of pepper
Steps
  1. Cut the onion, garlic and ginger
  2. Heat up the cooking oil on high heat
  3. Add onion, garlic and ginger, set heat to medium and cook until it changes color
  4. Add tomato and cook for short while
  5. Add cornstarch and 200ml water, stir well and set heat back to high.
  6. Once it boils, turn heat down to medium.
  7. Add soy sauce, dark soy sauce, vinegar, salt and pinch of pepper. Set sauce aside.
  8. Boil a pot of water and add 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp cooking oil. Flash boil plucked pak choi leaves for 30 seconds.
  9. Plate it nicely and pour the sauce on top of it with a spoon.
