Wine-Braised Brisket with Onions
Ingredients
  • 1 3 to 3.5 pound boneless beef brisket
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

  • 1 ½ cup dry red wine
  • 1 14 ounce can beef broth
  • 2 large red onions, sliced
  • 3 sprigs fresh thyme or ½ teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (6 cloves)
  • 10 ounce fresh mushrooms, quartered
  • 2 tablespoon snipped fresh Italian parsley or chives
