Apple Crumble

Ingredients
- subheading: For the Apples:
- 6 to 8 medium apples (~3 pounds), cored and sliced thinly with skin on*
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon or apple pie spice blend
- note: I typically use sweet varieties like Fuji, Gala or Honey Crisp, but you can certainly go tart with Granny Smith, too. Also, you can stick with a single apple variety for this recipe or enjoy a mix of several types-anything goes!
- subheading: For the crumble:
- 1 cup blanched almond flour
- ¾ cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or apple pie spice blend
- ¼ to ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons melted butter* (or go dairy-free and use coconut, canola or grapeseed oil)
- note: I microwave for about 30 seconds to melt.
