Ingredients
  • subheading: For the Apples:
  • 6 to 8 medium apples (~3 pounds), cored and sliced thinly with skin on*
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon or apple pie spice blend
  •  
  • note: I typically use sweet varieties like Fuji, Gala or Honey Crisp, but you can certainly go tart with Granny Smith, too. Also, you can stick with a single apple variety for this recipe or enjoy a mix of several types-anything goes!
  • subheading: For the crumble:
  • 1 cup blanched almond flour
  • ¾ cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or apple pie spice blend
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter* (or go dairy-free and use coconut, canola or grapeseed oil)
  •  
  • note: I microwave for about 30 seconds to melt.
