Root Beer Braised Ribs
You cook the ribs in two stages. The first cooks them completely and eliminates the excess fat and the second time infuses the flavor of the Rootbeer glaze. Makes them perfect for events.

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs pork loin back ribs or pork spareribs
  • 1 cup rootbeer
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce of your choice
  • 2 T sun-dried tomato paste
  • ½ cup water
  • Cooking spray, Salt & Pepper
Steps
  1. Spray the bottom of the slow cooker with cooking spray and season the ribs with the Salt & Pepper.
  2. Cut the ribs into 2 or 3 rib portions and place them in the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour over ½ cup of water.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 9 hours until the ribs are tender.
  4. Remove the ribs and drain the liquid from the cooker. Return the ribs to the slow cooker.
  5. Whisk together the Rootbeer, BBQ Sauce and tomato paste. Pour the mixture over the ribs. Cover and cook on low for an additional hour.
