Blackened Chickpeas Recipe (Spicy Fried Chickpeas)
Ingredients
  • subheading: For the blackening seasoning blend (makes extra):
  • ½ tbsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tbsp regular paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (see notes)
  • ¾ tsp ground white pepper (see notes)
  • ¾ tsp ground black pepper (see notes)
  • ½ tsp dried thyme leaves
  • ½ tsp dried oregano leaves
  • subheading: For the blackened chickpeas:
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (I used grapeseed oil)
  • 1 and ½ cups cooked chickpeas (equal to 1 regular can), drained but not rinsed
  • 1 and ¼ tsp blackening seasoning (recipe above)
  • salt to taste
