Broccoli cauliflower and sausage soup
Ingredients
  • 1-½ pounds sausage (sliced & quartered)
  • 1 onion
  • ½ pound broccoli cut in florets
  • 1-½ pounds cauliflower cut in florets
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 6 cup chicken bone broth
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese grated
  • 5 slices bacon (cooked to crisp and chopped)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • ½ teaspoon thyme
  • salt & ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
Steps
  1. In a saucepan fry sausage really well add onion and fry some more.
  2. Add half cup of broth and scrap the pan like making a roux.
  3. Add rest of broth and vegetables and seasons.
  4. Let cook until desired tenderness of vegetables.
  5. Add heavy cream simmer for 5 minutes
  6. Turn off cook top add cheese..
  7. Top with bacon and red onion.
