Honey Buttermilk Bread for Bread Machines
It’s the best bread ever for sandwiches with a velvety crumb with a slightly sweet flavor that comes from honey.  Tender buttermilk white bread with the delicate flavor of honey. The stronger the honey the better the flavor so use pure raw honey, buckwheat or other strong flavor.

Servings: 1 ½ pound loaf

Ingredients
  • ⅛ cup warm water
  • 1 cup warm buttermilk
  • ⅛ cup butter, melted and cooled so that it is warm to the touch but not hot.
  • ⅛ cup honey
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • 1½ teaspoon salt
  • pinch of ginger (helps activate the yeast)
  • ⅓ teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 cups white bread flour
  • 1 ⅛ teaspoons yeast
Steps
  1. Make sure paddle is In bread pan.
  2. Pour water and buttermilk into pan.
  3. Add butter.
  4. Add honey,
  5. Place flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and ginger in pan.
  6. Make a small well in dry ingredients and carefully add yeast into well.
  7. Place pan inside machine and start or set if using delay.
Notes
  • Increase yeast by ½ tsp if using the rapid setting.
  • Follow the instructions for your bread maker.
