Ingredients
  • 1lb black beans
  • 2 peppers I always use green, and any other color (don't cut, esier to ladle out later)
  • 1 large yellow onion (don't cut, easier to ladle out later)
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • ½ tsp Cumin
  • ¼ tsp Cinnamon
  • 6" Cinnamon stick
  • Kombu (not grandma recipe, I add to remove additional sugars from beans while pressuring)
  • 1 Jalapeño (if you like spice) remove seeds
  • 6 to 10 cloves garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • ¾ to 1 tablespoon salt (to taste)*** please see note below)
