Ingredients
  • Saute mode put 3 to 4 tbsp canola oil and fry 1 tsp cumin seeds. Then add 1 very thinly sliced onion. Fry till golden brown. Then add 3 to 4 large spoonfuls of ginger garlic paste (this can be found in any indian grocery market) or you can make your own with equal parts of ginger and garlic blended with some water into a paste. Fry for a few mins then add 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken, and 2 to 3 cubed potatoes and 3 chopped tomatoes. Add 1 spice packet of Bombay biryani mix by Laziza brand. If you can't find Laziza any brand will work. Shan is a good one also. If you can't get a spice packet mix I will give you exact quantities of spices. Fry it for 10 to 15 mins, then add 2 cups washed basmati rice and 3 cups water. If you feel you have a lot of liquid before adding in the rice and water just do 2.5 cups water otherwise it will be mushy. Manual for 6 mins QR. I found it to be a little less salt so I will add 1 tsp of salt next time to the rice before cooking.
