Ingredients
  • 6 beef shanks
  • 4 beef short ribs
  • 15 California Chiles ~ reconstituted~
  • (she literally throws them in a sauce pan with water to cover them, stems off, once it boils, turns it off and lets them steep for 15 minutes)
  • note: Keep one cup of this water aside from the one mentioned at the bottom of the list!*
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp chicken bouillon
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • ½ tsp ground allspice
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 ½ tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tbsp Valentina Mexican Hot Sauce (you can just add another tbsp of vinegar if not available)
  • ½ cup lager beer
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup Coca-Cola (I don’t question things after my grandma yelled at me for doing so)
  • 6 cups water (using half initially, other 3 come along later)
