Chinese Bbq Ribs (Char Siu), IP or oven-baked
Ingredients
  • 1 pound pork - cut into 2 inch strips and score the strips (belly pork or marbled)
  • subheading: Seasonings:
  • 2½ tbsp Hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • ¼ to ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp wine - Mui Kai Lo
  • ½ tsp 5 spice powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Dash of pepper
  • subheading: Glaze:
  • 1 tbsp dark soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp oil
Steps
  1. subheading: IP:
  2. Marinate pork with seasonings at least overnight (or 2 hours minimum).
  3. Pour marinade into pot.  Add ½ cup water.  Ribs on trivet.  Manual 16 mins.  QR.
  4. glaze and broil.
  5. subheading: oven:
  6. Line a baking tray or stainless steel dish with aluminium foil. Transfer marinated pork on to it and cover with foil.
  7. Bake at 425 F for about 10 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven. Open the top foil and continue baking until sauce thickens and coats the pork.
