  1. You can cook from frozen. Coat the roast with light oil, then salt and pepper it. Sear all sides on the saute' setting. Add about 2 cups beef broth and 1/4 cup organic soy sauce (we use Tamari) set on manual, 50 minutes, let it naturally release, you can go 10 minutes less and add veggies to the pot for the last 10 minutes but you have to go through the pressurizing stage again. I prefer to roast the veggies separately when doing a full roast. NPR lets the moisture settle back into the meat and make a more pleasing dish. I also prefer mashed potatoes with roast. The simple, salt, pepper, soy sauce seasoning, will yield a naturally beefy flavor that is fantastic and arguably the best seasoning for a roast. For this meal, simple is best.
