  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • 6 to 8 drops red GEL food coloring**
  • subheading: Ermine Buttercream (Boiled Milk Frosting):
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup (30g) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • ¾ cup (180mL) milk
  • 1 ¼ cup (263g) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract)
  • tiny pinch of salt
