Stove Top Boeuf Bourguignon
Ingredients
  • 3 lbs beef chuck cut into 2.5 inch cubes
  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 1 lb small brown mushrooms quartered
  • 7 oz lardons or chopped bacon
  • 1 large yellow onion sliced
  • 2 medium carrots peeled and sliced, ½ inch
  • 8 cloves garlic smashed and coarsely chopped
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup pearl onions
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 1 tbsp Better than Bouillon Beef (or 1 cube beef bouillon)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 2 sprigs thyme
  • 1 tbsp parsley flakes
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
